Hey guys, welcome back to Serenity in The Spirit :)
I hope you have been enjoying the SiTS advent countdown. In case you missed week one, you can catch up here or on the SiTS Instagram highlights where I have been posting daily reminders of each item and will continue to do so for the remainder of the advent period.
As I said in the introduction post if you have any suggestions for the advent calendar, feel free to let me know here. But for now, let’s jump straight into this week’s content:
Sunday 9th December 2018: PRAYER
We come before You Lord at the beginning of this week that You have made. I pray over those reading this prayer right now, let them feel Your overwhelming love. I pray that they feel comforted and strengthened to face whatever this week throws at them. I pray for productivity and motivation to meet any deadlines as we draw nearer to Christmas day. Let us end the year as we mean to begin 2019, with love, joy and peace. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Monday 10th December 2018: VERSE
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Tuesday 11th December 2018: SONG
Forever – Jason Nelson
I really like the lyrics of this song, they really capture the nature of God’s love from God’s perspective when many other worship songs take the worshipper’s point of view. It’s a comforting song to play when you need to be reminded of God’s love for you, no matter the circumstance.
Wednesday 12th December 2018: VIDEO
Being Paralyzed When God is Telling you to Step Out On Faith – Heather Lindsey
I really enjoy watching Heather’s videos, she breaks down scripture in a way that is easy to understand and she's not afraid to share her experiences as encouragement to her audience. This video in particular challenges us to not only listen to God’s voice but to obey it in order to reap the blessings He has for us.
Thursday 13th December 2018: VERSE
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Friday 14th December 2018: QUOTE
“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.” – C.S Lewis
We know that in comparison to God’s perfect nature, we will all fall short (Romans 3:23), most Christians will not claim to be perfect. However, God still loves us, so much so that as yesterday’s verse told us, He sent His son to give us eternal life. If we choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit can work within us to change us to become more like Him.
Saturday 15th December 2018: SONG
Winter Wonderland/Don’t Worry Be Happy – Pentatonix ft Tori Kelly
To end this week’s advent content, I had to have another Christmas song (I just love them so much!). This song is one of my all-time favourites and the rest of the album is pretty good too ;)
That brings us to the end of week 2 of SiTS Advent! I hope you’re enjoying our countdown to Christmas. If you have any questions about Christianity (whether Christmas-related or not), please let me know here.
Thanks for reading :)
