Hi everyone, welcome to Serenity in The Spirit.
I know you may have been expecting Part four of the ‘Living for Jesus’ series, however today is actually my birthday so I wanted to write and post something a little different.
First and foremost, I must thank God for my life. God created me (and you) in His image which means we are incredibly special. I have received countless blessings – some of which have definitely been undeserved! However that is the beautiful thing about God, even though we do not deserve His love, He still pours it out on us.
The past year has been truly incredible for me and I have many testimonies, God is alive! I would like to share some of these testimonies in the hope of encouraging you on your journeys.
I gained a much deeper understanding of Christ which led to my relationship with Him growing into new territory. This new territory is what gave me the push to start this blog, it is what opened my eyes to the wrong-doings of my life both before and still to this day. It has increased my patience, faith in God and love for Him.
God led me back to Church. This came about through months of prayer (from family and friends) and a simple invitation. On my 20th birthday and a few months following, I had no intention of returning to church, it was not on my radar at all. But God is good and He is faithful. I would like to thank the very special people in my life that got me there. I am immensely blessed with the people God has placed around me and I cannot thank you enough for allowing God to use you to make this difference in my life.
I would also like to thank those who attend the church I attended whilst on placement. Some amazing things happened that have changed my life forever and some of them would not have occurred if it wasn’t for you. I miss our home group dearly and the friends I made.
The Third Person conference allowed me to experience the Holy Spirit in a different way to how I ever have before. God spoke through strangers to encourage me in what I had been doing and to help me make some important decisions.
THIS BLOG! If you have read some of my previous posts you will know that I have had the idea to write a blog since I was around 15 years old! This year, God gave me the courage and the wisdom to start it up and I pray that it is making a difference in the lives of those who read it.
If you do have any testimonies/comments/feedback please let me know, I would love to hear from you!
Not only did God grant me the confidence but He has given me all of the content I have posted. I write what I feel God wants me to communicate with you and therefore this blog truly would not be possible without Him.
God has answered many prayers for me. From prayers about my relationships to prayers about my hair! He truly does care about everything in our lives.
My Canada trip. This trip was an incredible blessing, I did not expect to get so much from it but God is good and He blessed me anyway.
Firstly, it was really great to see my family as I do not get to see them often. I attended 4 different churches with all of my auntie’s and I am grateful for the experience, each sermon I listened to gave me something new to think about and apply in my life. The time I spent alone with my Grandma was precious and as a very knowledgeable lady in Christ, I learnt more about the bible and more about fasting through her. I also spent a lot of time with one of my cousins who really encouraged me and even moved me to tears (in a good way!!).
My first fast! I fasted as soon as I got back from Canada and God really showed me what it meant to depend on and trust in Him.
The joyful spirit God has placed within me is a true blessing. I have found that I am a lot happier, even when things don’t work out the way I hoped. I trust in the Lord and I want to follow His plans for my life because I know they are good.
Now, this is not an exhaustive list of my testimonies over the year and if you are interested in hearing more, let me know as I’d be happy to talk them over sometime. I really owe it all to God, He has transformed my life and I am extremely grateful.
I would also like to thank my parents, sisters and friends for the love and support they have shown me over the past year. As I said before, God has truly blessed me with you all. Thank you for always being there, your support is greatly appreciated and has made a big difference in my life. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys.
So, I guess all that is left to say is thank you to the readers of my blog. Your comments have been lovely to read and I pray that you are encouraged and blessed by SiTS.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray for protection over all of your lives. I pray for you to find the eternal happiness, love and peace of God. Let His warm embrace comfort you in times of trouble and may you be refreshed by the Holy Spirit. I pray for the break-through you need to reach the other side of battles you may be facing at the moment. God, You are so powerful and awesome, thank You for the work You are about to do in the lives of Your beautiful people. Father, I pray that Your plan comes into fruition in the lives of those who are reading this right now. Amen.
*By the way, if you are someone who does not normally listen to song of the post, may I suggest you take a listen to this one? CalledOut Music has been a big part of my journey this year and the song I have chosen is a great summary of the incredible year I have had.
Thank you so much for reading.
